METRINCO introduces LA-800, a new line of portable liquid analyzers. Five models share one platform. Depending on the model, the analyzers measure pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), conductivity, TDS, salinity, dissolved oxygen and temperature of aqueous solutions. They run on built-in rechargeable batteries and log results to an SD card. With the LA80BS laboratory base, they become a benchtop workstation with a magnetic stirrer and an electrode stand. The analyzer type is approved under type-examination certificate UA.TR.001 29-26. Every model can be ordered in a version with conformity assessment when the meter has to come with metrological documents.

Key advantages of LA-800

  • Versatility and flexible settings for demanding professional users, without making the meter harder to use. Five models share one platform, and the LA80BS base can be added at any time. Calibration point values can be set to match the buffers and standards used in your laboratory. pH is calibrated at 1 to 5 points, and EC supports cells with K = 0.1, 1 and 10. A common menu structure and control logic make it easy to move between models.
  • Metrological documents. The type is approved by a type-examination certificate. Every model is available in a version with conformity assessment: you receive the declaration and certificates together with the meter, and their cost is already included in the price.
  • Low running costs. Widely available pH and ORP electrodes connect through a standard BNC connector. Temperature is measured by a separate probe, so the pH electrode does not need a built-in temperature sensor. The membrane cap and electrolyte of the DO sensor can be replaced separately, without replacing the whole sensor. Power comes from built-in rechargeable batteries rather than disposable ones.
  • Ukrainian manufacturer and local service. METRINCO instruments are manufactured by OTAVA (Ukraine). Warranty and post-warranty service, spare sensors, consumables and technical support are all provided in Ukraine.

Below we explain what the line consists of, how the models and versions differ, and how to choose the right meter for your task.

One platform, five configurations

All LA-800 models share the same housing, display, menu, power supply and data logging system. They differ only in their measuring channels and the sensors supplied. This brings several practical benefits:

  • Shared operating logic. A common menu structure and control logic make it easy to move between models.
  • Replaceable sensors. Electrodes, cells and sensors connect separately and are replaced without replacing the analyzer.
  • Shared accessories. The TPLA-1 temperature probe and the LA80BS base are compatible with all models. Buffer and standard solutions are chosen according to the measuring channel, pH or conductivity.
  • Room to expand. You can start with a portable analyzer of the model you need and add the laboratory base later.

Analyzer capabilities

pH and ORP

The measuring range is 1.00 to 14.00 pH with an error of ±0.05 pH and a resolution of 0.01 pH. pH is calibrated at 1 to 5 points. The value of each point can be changed in the menu to match the buffers used in the laboratory; the defaults are 1.68, 4.01, 7.00, 10.01 and 12.45 pH. After calibration the meter shows the electrode slope (PTS), so you can see when the electrode is wearing out.

ORP is measured from −1999 to 2000 mV with an error of ±(2 mV + 1 least significant digit). ORP is calibrated at one point, set within 100 to 1000 mV. Electrodes connect through a standard BNC connector. The ORP electrode (OG-2 or OG-3) is ordered separately.

Conductivity, TDS and salinity

With the CD-2 cell (K = 1) supplied, the meter measures conductivity from 1.0 µS/cm to 200.0 mS/cm in four automatically switched subranges. The error is ±2.5 % of the upper limit of the subrange. The analyzer supports cells with K = 0.1, 1 and 10, so a different cell can be chosen for very pure or highly saline water. The set of calibration points depends on the selected cell constant. TDS and salinity are calculated from conductivity; the TDS conversion factor is set by the user.

Dissolved oxygen

The LA801D and LA803PCD models come with the DO-LA1G galvanic membrane sensor. The measuring range is 0.01 to 20.0 mg/dm³ with an error of ±(0.2 mg/dm³ + 1 least significant digit). The sensor is calibrated in air and, if required, additionally in a zero-oxygen solution. The meter compensates for salinity (0–50 ppt) and altitude. The sensor cable is 115 cm long. The membrane cap and electrolyte are replaced without replacing the sensor: four spare caps are included, and a fifth is already fitted.

Temperature and temperature compensation

The separate TPLA-1 temperature probe measures from 0 to 110 °C with an error of ±0.5 °C and provides automatic temperature compensation from 5 to 60 °C. The separate probe lets you use pH electrodes without a built-in temperature sensor.

Last calibration information

The Cal. Info menu shows the parameters of the last calibration: for pH, the offset, slopes, temperature and compensation mode; for ORP, the point and offset; for conductivity, the calibration date and time, calibration points and temperature. This makes it easier to monitor electrode condition and plan the next calibration on time.

Data logging and PC connection

Results are logged to an SD card with date and time, either manually or automatically at intervals of 1 to 600 s, as Excel files. Over USB Type-C the meter sends readings to a PC in real time. Windows software is available on request.

Battery operation

The analyzers run on four built-in 10440 rechargeable batteries and charge via USB Type-C or on the LA80BS base, so the meter can be taken on site or to the sampling point. Other features include a backlit graphic display, MAX/MIN mode, automatic hold of stable readings in pH and DO modes (on models with these channels) and a built-in stand for desk use.

LA80BS laboratory base

The LA80BS base turns a portable analyzer into a benchtop workstation. A magnetic stirrer with speed control mixes the sample during measurement and calibration for 30, 60 or 120 minutes or continuously. The stand with an electrode holder keeps the electrodes and temperature probe above the vessel, and the analyzer charges while it sits on the base. For field measurements, simply lift the meter off the base.

The base is auxiliary equipment: it does not measure anything itself and does not change the analyzer's specified metrological characteristics. It can be bought together with an analyzer (BS and BS-CA versions) or added later to a meter you already own.

Metrology: approved type and versions with conformity assessment

The LA-800 analyzer type is approved under type-examination certificate UA.TR.001 29-26 dated 06.08.2026 (module B), issued by SE "Ukrmetrteststandard". Specified characteristics:

Quantity Measuring range Error
pH 1.00…14.00 pH ±0.05 pH
ORP −1999…2000 mV ±(2 mV + 1 least significant digit)
Conductivity (cell K = 1) 1.0 µS/cm…200.0 mS/cm, 4 subranges ±2.5 % of the subrange upper limit
Dissolved oxygen 0.01…20.0 mg/dm³ ±(0.2 mg/dm³ + 1 least significant digit)
Temperature 0…110 °C ±0.5 °C

If you need the meter with metrological documents, choose the CA version. It is supplied after conformity assessment under module F has been completed. The conformity assessment and documents are included in the price:

  • copy of the declaration of conformity;
  • copy of the type-examination certificate;
  • copy of the module F certificate of conformity;
  • user manual in Ukrainian;
  • warranty card.

Standard versions are supplied without conformity assessment, with a user manual and a warranty card. Conformity assessment can be ordered for them separately. For any version, metrological calibration in a laboratory accredited to DSTU EN ISO/IEC 17025 is available for an additional fee.

Four versions of each model

Designation LA80BS laboratory base Conformity assessment When to choose
